1964 Ford Mustangs Donīt Exist!
Officially the 1964 Ford Mustang doesn't exit. Neither does the 64 1/2 Mustang. Thankfully there were over 100,000 made for us to enjoy.
The first Ford Mustang rolled off of the assembly line on April 9, 1964. (We have a picture of it to prove it!) And the 1965 model year did not begin until October, 1964. But those executives that make decisions at Ford decreed that all of the early cars would carry a 1965 VIN.
