1968 Shelby Mustang GT350 Fastback #330 Auction Sale Price: $143,000 Barrett-Jackson Car Auction, Scottsdale, AZ, January, 2010, Lot Number: 1253 Serial #330. Documented in the SAAC Registry. Finished in her original colors, Lime Gold and black interior. Equipped to Shelby specifications, 4-speed, power disc brakes and steering, competition handling package, shoulder harness, integrated roll bar, deluxe interior, console and gauges. Correct, period Shelby 10-spoke rims and a Ford AM/FM stereo were added during her restoration. Original hub caps and AM radio included. This Shelby was ordered in August 1967 but was not delivered until late November 1967 due to an extended strike. As an early production 1968, she has several unique features like dual Vin, non-tilt column, etc. Delivery to her original owner occurred through Marv Tonkin Ford in Portland, Oregon. Documentation of this Shelby includes original owner's manual, copy of Window Sticker and warranty invoices. #330 was purchased by her current owner largely due to the outstanding condition and all original rust-free sheet metal. A documented ground-up restoration to the highest standards was completed by Tri-City Mustang Restoration, Inc. in June 2009. All components disassembled, inspected and restored/replaced. Restoration documentation and photographic record included. Matching numbers, engine is VIN stamped. All original body panels, fiberglass and floors retained. All difficult to find and expensive parts in place, Cobra S7 intake, Shelby specific 4-speed carburetor, smog equipment, fan clutch, etc. Painstaking level of detail invested to duplicate factory finishes and markings. Dashboard inscribed #330 and "Green with Envy" and signed by Carroll Shelby. Awarded Concours Gold at the SAAC Indiana Spring Fling 2009 and at SAAC 34. Multiple best of class and show winner at other SAAC and MCA affiliated club shows. Award documentation from SAAC, judging sheets and certificates will be provided to the new owner.

She is serial #1058. Well documented in the Shelby Registry. Impeccably finished in her original colors: unusual Sunlit Gold and (original) black interior. Driving #1058 is an experience like wearing a fine vintage gold chronograph. Attention-grabbing and ultimately satisfying for her owner. Equipped as specified by the Hertz Corporation featuring all the Shelby equipment (power disc brakes, power steering, competition handling package, shoulder harnesses, integrated roll bar, deluxe interior, unique console and gages, and tilt / tilt away steering column) plus selected options of an automatic transmission, air conditioning and tinted glass. Shelby 10-spoke alloy rims and an original 1968 Ford factory AM/FM stereo were added during her restoration. Delivery to Hertz occurred through Town & Country Ford in Charlotte, North Carolina. #1058 was originally available to pre-qualified Hertz customers from the Charlotte, North Carolina Airport as part of the Hertz Sports Car Club program. This gold 1968 GT350 fastback has had resided in North Carolina and West Virginia. Her current owner purchased her due to the rarity of this beautiful Shelby, her rust-free condition and comfort oriented options. A documented restoration of more than 900 hours was completed by Shelby/Mustang specialist, Martin Euler of High Performance Investments. Martin is the same craftsman that restored the 1968 Shelby Prototype, the "Green Hornet". All components disassembled, inspected and restored/replaced to achieve an as new condition. All original body panels and fiberglass retained. All Shelby unique parts restored/retained. The engine rebuilt during restoration is date code correct. The original Ford VIN stamped block is included. Significant levels of detail invested to duplicate factory finishes and markings. Production statistics, courtesy of Marti Auto Works, related to this rare Shelby indicate #1058 is one of only 223 Hertz ordered 1968 Shelbys. Beautiful, distinctive and comfortable to drive with the windows down on a cool day or with the air conditioning running if the weather is well, a bit warmer. #1058 has approximately 68,000 original miles. Since her restoration, #1058 has consistently been a class winner at SAAC and MCA affiliated club shows. In a field of red, white and blue Shelbys, standout with this rare Sunlit Gold gem.
