1907 Itala Grand Prix Race Car Engine: 4-Cylinder 733-cid with 6.10" x 6.29" Bore and Stroke The 1907 Grand Prix Itala race car proved to be very reliable and two cars of this type participated at the Brooklands, England track until 1914. In 1910, an Itala ran 19.5 miles at an average speed of 97.5 miles per hour with a top lap speed at 101.8 miles an hour. This car was built in the Itala factory in Torino. Italy and was driven in Europe by Henri Fournier. Fournier was a noted bicycle racer in his day before turning to cars. He brought this car to the United States and in the US Grand Prix at Savannah, Georgia, March 19, 1907, he placed eighth.
