Signage: 1949 Jaguar XK120 Roadster: It is difficult to imagine what it must have felt like to witness the launchiing of the XK120 some fifty years ago. Here was a sports car with comparative Super car performance, combining breathtaking good looks with a relatively affordable price. The XK120 could accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 12 seconds and would top over 115 miles per hour. These were staggering figures for 1948. It was in effect a racecar you could buy and use on the open road. It was therefore not surprising that derivatives of the SK120 went on to win races all over the World including the 24 Hours LeMans Endurance Race. This splended example has been meticulously and painstakingly restored to its original condition with such careful attention to detail that you could be forgiven for thinking the year was 1948. Frightening to think that even today, some fifty years on, it could still outperform a good many "so called" sports cars out there.
