3.8 liter dual overhead cam in-line six-cylinder engine rated at 210 horsepower, four-speed Donnington overdrive manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 102.0"

This sharp drophead coupe appears to be an original car finished from the factory in black, which appears to have an older re-spray. The finish is showing a minor amount of checking but has a deep gloss and still appears quite presentable. Upon inspection of the body, we found that the gaps were even, doors, hood, and deck-lid all opened and closed easily, and there appeared to be no signs of rust-out visible on the exterior of this sleek machine. Its interior is finished in saddle leather, said to be original to the car, and it does show some signs of age and usage; commensurate with the rest of the car. On the dashboard, the woodwork is well presented and again, appears to be untouched from the factory and could benefit from some detailing. The controls, gauges and accessories also reflect an original state. Fitted with a biscuit tan soft top, the fit and quality are at or above factory standards. Mounted to the four original knock-off wire wheels are a set of black-wall tires adding to the charm of this car.

The engine is fitted with the proper performance head and original transmission, and again, a patina of originality is found here with no signs of detailing or major engine work found. The undersides are also quite well presented and it is reported that this is a very lively car ready to hit the road as it has recently been given a full inspection, plus a tune-up and new fluids installed. Considered one of the most important production sports cars ever produced, this is a very unique opportunity to bid on what appears to be a rather original example of the XK140-MC.
