Jensen Motors, Ltd was founded by the Jensen brothers, Alan and Richard, in 1936 after serving as coachbuilders for other firms for several years.

The company continued to make bodies for other auto makers and built their first Jensen Interceptor in 1949 which was produced until the company's demise in 1976.
