Chassis No. 0211; Engine 3,464cc dual overhead camshaft 60ø alloy V12, six dual-choke downdraft Weber carburetors, 270 horsepower at 6,500 rpm, 5-speed manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension with coil springs, four-wheel disc brakes.

Ferrucio Lamborghini built tractors. A lot of tractors. That in turn earned him a lot of money and he went to Ferrari to buy a car. Ferrari wasn't very receptive to Lamborghini's special requests and so Ferrucio Lamborghini vowed to build better car than Ferrari. He hired Giotto Bizzarrini, designer of the Ferrari 250 GTO among others, to design it and Franco Scaglione, the most daring of all Italian coachwork designers, to create its style. The prototype, the 350 GTV, was introduced at the Turin auto show in November 1963. Tooled for production at Touring, the patriarch of Italian coachbuilders, the definitive 350 GT debuted at Geneva in March 1964.

It was, make no mistake, everything Ferrucio Lamborghini had specified. Lamborghini had no legacy factories, machinery or employees. Everything was built, machined and assembled in modern, efficient, accurate facilities. Scaglione's design, extensively refined by Touring, fitted snugly on a platform chassis of square and rectangular tubing. The body featured innovative Cibie oval headlights. Chrome spoke Borrani wire wheels completed the design statement.

The Lamborghini 350 GT was the basis of a living legend which has continued to break new ground at the forefront of high performance sports, Grand Touring and supercar design for forty years.
