Designed by the brilliant young Giorgetto Giugiaro while working for Ghia, the Ghibli was conceived to serve the same market as the Lamborghini Miura and the Ferrari 365 Daytona. The Ghibli proved much more desirable having outsold both while being priced higher at a cost of $19,000. The interior was more opulent and larger than the competition, the engine was bullet proof and with power steering and air conditioning the car found itself the object of desire among the elite. The Ghibli Spyder was built in fewer numbers than the Daytona spyder with only 125 examples produced between the years of 1969 and 1972. These cars are excellent investments and seldom available.
