1980 Manta Montage McLaren M6 GT Re-Creation

1980 Manta Montage McLaren M6 GT Re-Creation
33,000.00 USD
Offered For Sale at the: Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction January, 2008, Scottsdale, Arizona Barrett-Jackson Auction Company 7400 E Monte Cristo Ave Scottsdale, AZ 85260 Phone: 480-421-6694 Facsimile: 480-421-6697 Website: www.barrett-jackson.com 1980 Manta Montage McLaren M6 GT Re-Creation 33,000 LotNumber 395 The Manta is a re-creation of the McLaren M6GT road car that never made it to fruition due to Bruce McLaren's untimely death during its gestation. Just two prototypes were built, but the seductive shape coupled with the success of the M6B Can AM car captivated enthusiasts and spawned the Manta re-creations in the early 80's. This car was built by an engineer in California as his weekend toy. Rather than a VW Flat 4 or GM V6 like most of these you will find, this car has a professionally built 355cid, 4-bolt main, Chevy TPI V8 with aluminum heads, forged pistons, roller rockers, a hot cam, ported intake, custom ceramic coated headers, Magnaflow exhaust and an estimated 400hp. Fit and finish are downright superb on this car and it has great details including Ferrari-style gauges, Vector aluminum wheels, Momo steering wheel, Sony CD player and pop-open windows that are handy since most of these have sealed windows. **TITLED AS A 1958 VOLKSWAGEN**
