Signage: For many years the MG J2 set the style for British sports car design. The MG J2 began production in 1932. Over 2,000 were built although less than 1,200 were cycle-fendered. It featured an 847cc, four cylinder overhead cam engine with an eight-port cross-flow cylinder head. It was marketed as a simple, low cost sports car. In 2003, this J2 was removed from an Indiana barn hayloft as a bare chassis, plus a collection of parts which included the original instruments, radiator shell and windscreen. The car had been stored disassembled for well over 40 years. Because of the deterioration of the original body, a new one using authentic jigs, was fabricated. Factory build records were obtained and the restoration to its original duo-red color scheme using authentic colors, sources and components, was completed by Safety Fast! Restoration Company in September 2008.
