1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith All-weather Cabriolet | 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith All-weather Cabriolet 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith All-weather Cabriolet Coachwork by Hooper Used by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip and Prince Charles and Princess Diana of England This cabriolet is one of a pair ordered by the Australian Federal Government for a scheduled visit by King George VI and Princess Elizabeth during the late 1940s. While illness prevented the King from traveling, Queen Elixabeth used them during her two-month Australian tour after his death. They were also used for visits by the Queen Mother, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, numerous other heads of state, and the Pope. Intended for long-distance travel on dusty roads, the majestic cars were fitted with special air cleaners and extra lage capacity fuel tanks. In 1994, both cabriolets and four other Rolls-Royce motorcars were sold out of the government motor pool at a sale of Australian State vehicles when it was determined that they were used so infrequently that the costly regular maintainance required could not be justified. 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Saloon | 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Saloon 61,600.00 USD 1959 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER CLOUD SALOON 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Saloon. Restored. Interior in very good shape. Front upholstery shows wear. All wood dash and trim perfect. The Silver Cloud is one of the most recognized shapes in automotive history. It is the car many think of when they think of Rolls-Royce. Introduced in 1955, the Silver Clouds were built in three series and remained in production until 1965. 1959 was the final year for the first series Cloud, and more significantly the last year that Rolls-Royce motorcars were powered by the company's venerable six cylinder engine. In its penultimate form, as used in the Bentley Continentals and the very last Clouds, it displaced 4.9L. On the inside, the Silver Cloud exudes elegance with its liberal use of Connolly hides and Burl Walnut. This example received an extensive full body restoration in 1992-3 and has absolutely no rust remaining. It was repainted in Sand over Burgundy within the last 5 years. The wood was also removed stripped and refinished. It runs beautifully and has just been fitted with a completely overhauled transmission. Please email Carol@classiccarguy.com Price: $61,600.
