1990 Rolls Royce Silver Spur Sedan
Final Bid: $ 38,225.00
Russo & Steele Auction Scottsdale 2008
Consignment # 7314
For the 1990 model year Rolls Royce introduced the Spirit II and Spur II models. The long-wheelbase version was called the Silver Spur. Four inches longer than the Spirit, it is identifiable by its extended rear windows and ever-flex roof. The 1990 Silver Spur enjoyed some major enhancements including; electronically controlled suspension that markedly improved it's handling characteristics. These cars used a more modern Bosch Motronic engine management system that gave more power and better operation. The dashboard was once again redesigned in a more modern fashion, and the steering wheel acquired an airbag. Alloy wheels were also fitted to all models as standard.
Many people think these cars are the best buy in late Rolls Royce's. They are modern, reliable, and can be repaired with a minimum of specialized test equipment. Newer cars, while performing better, cannot be serviced without the proprietary Mastercheck test system. In addition, newer cars contain more specialized electronics that may be a problem when spare parts are needed in the distant future.
This Silver Spur is an original 15,000 mile, accident free, car from new and has spent most of its life in Newport Beach CA and Las Vegas NV., according to the carfax history. It is optioned with the ultra rare 'wood door panels' and reclining rear seats. It is finished in white with carnation interior.
