The style of coachwork featured on this Rolls Royce Phantom II, known as a Three Position Drophead, is considered by many to be the epitome of style and elegance. This Owen Sedanca by Gurney was designed by Captain H.R. Owen and built by respected coach builder Gurney Nutting. Of the 281 Phantom II Continental chassis made, only fourteen were mounted with this superb coachwork. This example was delivered in August 1934 to Mr. G.H. Barr of Penmacnmawr in North Wales. A subsequent owner was Mr. Ray Gentile, a well known Rolls Royce enthusiast who authored the definitive book on these cars "The Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental".
