With the introduction of the Phantom V in 1959, the "Phantom" name had been revived. It was the first Phantom to be offered for sale to the general public in nearly twenty years. Sales of the Phantom IV had been limited only to Heads of State.
The Phantom V provided a fabulous engineering architecture for the best coachbuilders. Its 144-inch wheelbase was meant for the creation and mounting of large and luxurious coachwork in the tradition of the pre-war period.
