Rolls-Royce introduced the Wraith, an entirely new and smaller design in 1938. It is considered by many to be the quietest Rolls-Royce every built. The gathering clouds of war cast a somber note over the Wraith, and the coachbuilders, ever shrinking in numbers, hardly had a chance to bring fressh ideas to the new model.

The Wraith was built for only two years and today is one of the rarest of the Rolls-Royce models.
