1965 Shelby Cobra Continuation
Second chances do come! This is your chance to own a true Shelby Cobra. Built by Shelby American in Las Vegas Nevada in the same configuration as the cars built in the early 60's and in the Shelby registry. The 289 street roadster is the car that started the Carroll Shelby Cobra mania. This sleek original body has not been copied by the kit carmakers making it truly collectable.
We have kept this example as true to the original as possible. Our car has an original, untouched 1968 Holman moody 302 Ford motor mated to an original late 60's Ford toploaded 4 speed. This car was delivered to me at the factory. We took it to a well-known shop that works on only Cobras and Mustangs. They installed all the mechanicals making sure we stayed true to the original 289 street roadsters. The car was then taken to Classic Restoration in Sparks NV where the body was massaged to a higher quality of fit and finish that is found on most Cobras. We painted the car with a period correct silver paint (not to much metallic) added leather to the dash and side panels and finished the car off with German weave salt and pepper carpet.
To drive this car is like no experience you will find. It has all the original Cobra parts including: Salisbury style differential with two spicer splined axle half shafts 3.54:1, Cast alloy front and rear uprights, drive hubs steel A-arms, and cross mounted leaf springs, disc braked on all 4 corners, aluminum inner fron panels, cockpit floor and trunck lining, real wire wheels, and authentic instruments.
