The Sports Spider was introduced in November 1966 at the Turin Auto Show and was ultimately the company's most successful commercial venture at the time. The Sports Spider utilized a shorter floor pan and its wheelbase was also shorter than it's coupe brethren. The Spider's unit body was designed and produced by Italian carozzeria Pininfarina. the Spiders were built till 1985 (production figures vary but a good estimate would be 200,000).
The engine utilized in the Spider was a double overhead cam, aluminum crossflow head version of the sedan's pushrod unit. It started in 1966 with a capacity of 1438 cc progressively increasing to 1608, and finally to 1995 cc in 1979. This family of engines was designed by ex-Ferrari chief engineer Aurelio Lampredi and in one form or another remained in production into the 1990s giving it one of the longest production runs in history. The double overhead cam (DOHC) version was the first mass manufactured DOHC to utilize reinforced rubber timing belts, an innovation that would come into nearly universal use in the decades after its introduction.
This car is a 1979 (Spider 2,000) example - with less than 8K miles on the odometer. It is metallic light blue with cream interior, 1,995CC (122Cu), desired 5 speed manual transmission, fuel injected, electronic ignition, 2 barrel venturi Weber carburetion, air conditioned, wood dashboard and 4 wheels power disk brakes. The original window sticker that comes with the car shows all the options that the car came with and - of course are still with the car. This car was very rarely driven by its previous two owners so it looks today as if it has just left the production line. It runs very smooth and shifts very crisply.fdwilk1Sun, 09 Mar 2008 18:28:50 -04001930 Chevrolet Hot Rod Roadster

Final Bid: $ 14,300.00 - Russo & Steele Auction Scottsdale 2008
This is a beautifully purpose built 1973 corvette convertible. Several modifications have been made to suit my driving style and increase the reliability and level of performance. In 2003, the entire motor was rebuilt with brand new heavy-duty parts. The car is a Group III NCCC car and record holder at Mid America Motorplex in Iowa during a NCCC high-speed event. The car has predominately been used as an autocross car participating in both low and high-speed events. The motor has very minimal wear since being rebuilt in 2003 as I have had no time to race due to my work schedule. To prepare the car for road racing, several upgrades were installed including new VBP severe duty stainless steel calipers with heat insulators, front ducting for the brakes and fresh fluid throughout including Motul high temp racing brake fluid and hawk blue racing brake pads.
The car needs nothing but a good home and driver. The previous owner went to great lengths to set this car up properly to ensure it is perfectly balanced. He had it up to 154 mph at Texas Motor Speedway. It is the best handling and nicest looking racecar I have ever owned. It has the full interior and a removable hardtop.
The engine includes: Rebuilt in 2003 has 400 horsepower, 1969 350 Chevrolet small block bored ".030" over with 4 bolt mains, When rebuilt, the following was done to the block, Balanced, Square Decked, Line bore/hone, and Bore/hone cylinders with plate.
New parts installed during rebuild: 8 new JE domed pistons 11cc for 12.75:1 compression ratio, Scat 4140 forged nitrided steel crank shaft, Scat 6.0" 4340 forged I beam rod set with ARP bolts, Custom ground solid lift billet camshaft from Flatlander Racing, Dart Iron Eagle 215 Iron Cylinder Heads 2.055" intake & 1.60" exhaust, GM solid lifters, Magnum fully roller rocker arms, New 5/16 7.900 pushrods Melling HV Oil Pump, 750 CFM speed demon carburetor with road race kit, Edelbrock performer RPM manifold, Hooker super competition headers with chrome side pipes, Taylor Spark Plug Wires, Oil, transmission and power steering coolers.
Other additions include: MSD 6AL with adjustable rev limiter, MSD Pro Billet Distributor, K&N extreme air flow filter and top, Fully synthetic fluids (Mobil 1 20/50, AmsOil racing automatic transmission fluid, AmsOil 75W 90 gear lube, New Optima Red Top Battery, Transmission & Driveline, Custom built turbo 350 with manual valve body, B&M ratchet shifter, 3,500 stall converter, 4:11 gears, Suspension & Brakes, New VBP severe duty stainless steel calipers with heat insulators, New VBP front and rear stainless steel brake lines, New Hawk Blue 126 front racing pads, New rear performance friction brake pads, New front brake air ducts, New front rotors and resurfaced rear rotors, Motul 600 racing brake fluid New VBP 550 lb street and slalom front coil springs, front and rear anti-sway bars, Bilstein Shocks, Flaming Rivers steering coupler.fdwilk1Sun, 09 Mar 2008 18:01:09 -04001971 Pontiac Le Mans Convertible

The seat is the Factory CST seat recovered in Toyota Tweed and Black vinyl. The door panels as well as the headliner and gas tank surround are 'Rod Doors' Dano kit. The idea behind the build was a truck for all occasions. The drag strip, hence the Competition Engineering three link adjustable rear end and the street cruise with 3:73 posi rear end with Air Lift adjustable bags. The engine is a crate 350 H.O. from Chevy along with the 425 HP package from Edelbrock. Line lock for fun at the strip and still maintains about 12 mpg. The front and rear roll pans and rocker panels are from Texas Custom. Trucks and have LED'S for the rear lights. The hood is a 4" cowl induction also from Texas Custom. All of the other sheet metal is original to the truck. Shaved the stake pockets, marker lights front and back, tailgate handle as well as the antenna on the cowl. The new wiring system is a 12 circuit from Painless and has provisions for power windows, locks, AC, cruise control. Fuel system is all new front to back with and fittings thru out. Fuel cell has roll over protection and is foam filled. The tranny has been stuffed with a B&M shift kit, custom fit drive shaft and the posi is an Eaton unit about 500 miles old.
The front suspension is a 2" drop from Western with the front Disc Brake conversion, and rear is still drum brakes. The color is Standox Antique Black. The Ghost flames are also Standox paint. The color, we made as we went along. They start as a dark blue that slowly gets lighter shades of blue until they turn to pearl white tips. The front grill and surround have been powder coated to protect from road rash. Front and back glass are new as well as all the rubber in the truck. The list just goes on and on. All records are with the truck as well as receipts and some pictures of the build.fdwilk1Sun, 09 Mar 2008 17:53:57 -04001979 Porsche 911 SC Coupe

Official Alfa Romeo promotional literature said it best:
They make you feel good fast.
"You haven't really driven yet. Until you drive an Alfa Romeo 1750. We build them like racecars to give you precise control, complete confidence at any speed. Each one has a racing-type twin overhead cam engine of 132 hp that is the most powerful in its class. And each has a race-proven fuel injection system. It improves performance. It saves gas. And it's all standard. Standard also are 5 forward speeds, fully synchronized. Wide-tread, high performance radial-ply tires. And pressure-equalized disc brakes on all 4 wheels for safe, straight-line stopping. And just look at the beautiful Italian coachwork by master designers Pininfarina and Bertone, with elegant interiors that cradle you in comfort and safety at nearly 120 mph. If you want driving excitement plus advanced safety features, drive an Alfa 1750. You'll feel food fast."
The Alfa Spider. A real stopper.
"Turn on the ignition key of Alfa Romeo's 1750 Spider Veloce and you turn on a new kid of automobile. One reason is the new 132-hp, 1779cc twin overhead cam engine. The torque peaks early at only 2900 rpm. And it stays flat up to five grand. Add Alfa's new race-proven fuel-injection system and that gives you extra urge up to nearly 120 mph, and you're moving. Now for the stopper. Power-assisted disc brakes on all four wheels. 396.8 square inch swept area. The new brake-pressure modulator helps prevent rear-wheel lock-up in emergency stops. And with wide-tread radials, you stop in a straight line. Fast. Now. Another thing that makes this beauty a stopper is the Italian body, a modern classic designed and built by world-famous Pinninfarina. Alfa Romeo's 1750 Spider Veloce. It's a stopper. So get going."fdwilk1Sun, 09 Mar 2008 17:41:34 -04001971 Chevrolet C-10 427 4x4 Pickup

Cosmetically, the car is very nice and is a perfect fine show ready driver. The paint appears to be recent and is a very high quality job. The panel gaps and fit are excellent all across the board. The chrome is quite delightful everywhere. All fresh rubberies, also beautiful. The glass and lights are very good all around.
The interior is in extremely nice condition. The door panels, front and rear seats were redone in beautiful red material and are outstanding, and the headliner is excellent. It has a correct radio original AM Blaupunkt radio. The carpets and mats are excellent, as is the speedometer and bezel, which almost certainly have been restored. The interior chrome is in beautiful shape too. The trunk looks fresh and the correct spare tire is fitted. The engine compartment has a nice original feel to it, and is very clean.
The underside is solid. It is predominantly rust-free, above and below. Mechanically, the car is sound and ready to be enjoyed. This is a fine opportunity to acquire a example of one of these robust cars. This is a solid car that could be used extensively and provide a reliable and enjoyable ownership experience. This 1971 Mustang Mach I underwent a frame on restoration approximately two years ago. It is an original M code car, although the owner preferred the clean lines so the Mach 1 striping and emblems are in tube in the trunk waiting to be applied by the new owner if he so desires. The 351CI engine and C6 transmission were rebuilt and the car runs smooth and strong. A high-end stereo has been installed consisting of in dash Alpine AM/FM/CD/Ipod controller, two sets of Infinity speakers, subwoofer enclosure and amplifier in the trunk. Upgraded LED dash lights. This car was a factory AC car but it's not currently operational.fdwilk1Sun, 09 Mar 2008 17:07:51 -04001999 Streetster Roadster

Only 2,022 of these pace car replicas were produced; this is #232 with ONLY 120 miles on it. Purchased to be stored and shown with a battery tender and fluids changed; stored in heated shop with it's own soft fonned car cover in a trailer hundreds of dollars spent on "TAZ" Monte Carlo memorabilia, three drawers of items, pictures, books, and many stuffed Taz's; backpack. Jay Leno pictured with pace car at Indy Paint is as perfect as I have seen on a vehicle of it's class and reminds me of the Ferrari in Monterey, especially the "Red" (no scratches or dings). The tires are new, still with casting nipples and interior looks and smells new (love that two tone leather).fdwilk1Sun, 09 Mar 2008 16:59:11 -0400
