Description:

1948 Packard Standard Eight Woodie Station Sedan
Most would refer to this automobile as a station wagon or woody wagon but Packard called this body style a four-door Station Sedan when it was introduced in 1948. The model was offered only in Packard's Standard Eight series and was discontinued after the 1950 model year. This was one of the earliest all-steel bodied station wagons and features Northern Birch wood paneling. Unlike "woodies" by other automakers, the wood in the Packard was strictly decorative and was only used structurally for the tailgate.
