The 1956 Packard Caribbean Convertible was the last full-size Packard built. This car sold new for $5,995. The 375 cubic inch V-8 produced 310 horsepower, the highest of any American production automobile. The engine was fed by two 4-barrel carburetors and had a 10:1 compression ratio. The transmission was a push button automatic. Original colors offered wer Dover White, Scottich heather, and Maltese Gray. The interior featured reversible seat cushions with leather on one side and boucle cloth on the other. New for 1956 was a twin traction differential with limited slip.
The Packard pictured above was purchased new by the current owner in August, 1956. It was used to bring their daughter, Sara, home from the hospital when she was born and then used for her wedding.
