This Mustang convertible was the FIRST Mustang off of the assemble line - serial number 1.
Many automobile historians believe the greatest appeal of Ford's new sporty model in April, 1964, the Mustang, was not its low price tag, but the large number of options that could be purchased for the car. These options allowed customers to tailor the Mustang to their individual needs. The Mustang and its extensive option package enabled Ford to target many audiences rather than one specific group.
