1953 DeSoto FireDome Convertible
The 1953 DeSoto FireDome Convertible was the top-of-the-line DeSoto for 1953 selling at $3,114. Just 1700 of the convertibles were built. Changes from 1952 for all the DeSoto cars included new combination tail, stop, and backup lights, the gas cap was moved to the left side and positioned below the deck lid, a chrome trim slash on the front fenders (not on the 8-passenger sedan or station wagon).
