1928 Isotta-Fraschini Tipo 8A S LeBaron Boattail Speedster
This 1928 Isotta-Fraschini Tipo 8A S LeBaron Boattail Speedster is 1 of only 2 known to exist. The 8A Isottas were some of the finest cars to come out of Europe in the 1930's with quality, design, and performance compared to Rolls-Royce and Hispano-Suiza automobiles. This boattail roadster has a custom built body by LeBaron, the American coachbuilder. It was built on the special short-wheelbase Isotta chassis and featured a "Mother-In-Law" seat, which was a one-passenger rumble seat. The S models were a tuned version of the 8A engine with a high compression ration and a somewhat high final drive ratio. The engine also had larger valves with dual valve springs, dual inlet manifolds, and dual downdraft carburetors. This Isotta with its 150-bhp engine could reach speeds of 110 mph.
