This car provided refuge for presidents Ronald Regan and Gerald Ford when they were shot at by would-be assassins. At the time, it was the biggest, most thoroughly armored presidential car ever made. Its long, sharp lines and low roof show that its designers were interested in protecting the president.
This is the last presidential car that will come to any museum. All future presidential cars will be destroyed in Secret Service safety experiments.
