1939 Lincoln presidential limousine photographed by Remarkable Cars at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan in June, 2005.
Franklin D. Rossevelt was the most frequent rider in this stately limousine with its strong, round lines. This car accompanied Roosevelt to dramatic diplomatic meetings in Yalta, Teheran, Casablanca and Malta. Its convertible roof gave the president a chance to enjoy the sun, hence the car became known as the "Sunshine Special".
In 1942 the from of the car was restyled and more armor protection was added.
