1951 Mercury Custom Lowrider by Barris
This 1951 Mercury was built by John Barris as a 50th anniversary tribute to his father, Sam Barris. In December, 1951, Motor Trend Magazine, featured a chopped Mercury, built by the senior Mr. Barris, on its cover. "The Rose" is a 1951 Mercury done in the original style of John's father using the advanced materials and technoloy of today. Sam, brother of George Barris, was one of the founding fathers of the custom car industry and a consumate craftsman and innovator of custom cars in the 1950's.
