1957 Pontiac Star Chief Convertible
Color: LUCERNE BLUE
Transmission: AUTO
Cylinders: V8
Engine Size: 347 TRI POWER
Horsepower: 290
The Star Chief was the top of the line for Pontiac in 1957 and was at the leading edge of General Motors performance activities. The Star Chief was sporty, luxurious, and offered exceptional power when equipped with the optional tri-power engine. This exceptional example was completely restored from the ground up. Pictures document a frame off restoration that included the smallest of detail. The flawless restoration was professionally done and included 2009 hours of the restores labor. This does not include the owners time spent on the project. The mileage since restoration is less than one mile! This Pontiac Star Chief is equipped with a long list of desirable options including the Wonder Bar signal-seeking radio, electric clock, under seat heater, and power steering and brakes. It is also equipped with the very desirable tri-power engine option which includes three two-barrel carburetors which boost the horsepower rating to 290. The interior of this vehicle is in better than new condition. The seats and side panels were redone using original fabric. The carpets are also new. The gauges, door handles, and window mechanisms have been restored or replaced with new parts. The exterior is also flawless. The car was repainted with the correct colors of Lucerne and Chevron Blue. This car has not been shown in national competition but would be in contention for top awards as one of the best examples in the country.
