2005 Mustang FR500C Barrett-Jackson Edition

Cylinders: V8
Engine Size: 5.0 LITER
Horsepower: 400
The FR500C is a non-VIN, non-production, non-streetable factory hand built, race ready Mustang road racecar from Ford Racing. The first time since the 1960's that Ford has offered turn-key race cars for sale. It was designed and built to compete in the Grand American Series Gran Sport class, and compete just doesn't describe its performance. It wins races and championships! The first car was delivered to the customer on February 2, 2005, then three days later, won the season opening Grand Am Cup race in Daytona. FR500C's continued to garner four more victories en route to sweeping the Team, Drivers and Manufacturers championships for 2005. An incredible, unprecedented achievement! These cars are offered in the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog with their own part number and they will be rare. Three have already been built and only 25 more are in the works. They are hand-built from the ground up, not modified from a car that came off the assembly line. Tremendous engineering went into the FR500C program to make competition race cars. Key aspects include the chassis/integrated roll cage and also the purpose built R50 "Cammer" engine. Much of the technical information that was gained from the FR500C program was subsequently used to develop the 2006 Shelby GT500 road car. ***SOLD ON BILL OF SALE***
