1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible
CHASSIS NO: 186132434
Believed to be Less Than 11,000 Miles From New
90hp 221 cu. in. Ford Flathead V8 engine, Ford two-bbl downdraft carburetor, three-speed sliding gear column controlled transmission and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. Wheelbase: 114"
This sporty, low mileage Ford Convertible (reportedly an original 10,587), was restored in 1995, but kept indoors ever since. Considered a solid overall example it is painted in the Ford promotional color for 1941 and is complemented by a contrasting beige cloth top and boot. The brightwork and chrome plating add lots of glitter and define the curvaceous lines of its forties styling. The leather interior in a similar shade of chestnut, is correct for its era and remains in excellent condition. The brown rubber mat and carpet combination and wood grain painted dash attest to only minimal use.
The robust Ford flathead was totally rebuilt detailed for showing. Options such as twin mirrors, chrome bumper guards, a radio with the aerial fixed to the top of the windscreen, and wide whitewall tires with baby moon Ford hubcaps provide this particular Ford convertible with a real road presence. Of the seven body styles offered in 1941 the convertible remains the most desired today by collectors. It was the most expensive model, apart from the station wagons, and only 30,240 were built out of a calendar year total of 600,814 Fords.
