1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 Fastback
This Shelby Mustang has a list price of $2975.75 and was purchased new in December of 1966 by then 18-year old Jay Smith in Oklahoma City. The car stayed in the Oklahoma area until purchased by its current owner.
It was frame-off restored to original condition in the late 1980s and early 90s and the car has essentially 100% original 1966 parts. The milage, 10,3xx, is correct and it is believed to be the lowest documented mile 1966 Shelby in existence. The tag on the car is the original tag and theonly one it has ever had.
This car scored 448.5 out of 450 at the Shelby American Automobile Club national show in 1993, which is the highest score ever awarded to a 1965 or 1966 Shelby, and thought by Senior Shelby judges to be the highest score ever achieved by any Shelby Mustang.
The car was not shown again for judging purposes until 2004 national Shelby show, where it again was rated as Premier (by SAAC) taking top honors in its class while scoring 442.7 out of 450.
