Monster Garage 1992 Honda Civic Nitro
Jesse headed back to school in this episode of "Monster Nation" to instruct the students of Lakewood HS on transforming a beaten-up 1992 Imported Honda Civic into a street-racin', girl-chasin' nitrous monster. Jesse James underwent surgery during the main portion of this build. Luckily the Garage Manager was there to help the students with whatever faced them. The team gutted the interior of the car, clearing out backseats, front seats, and steering wheel. New racing seats were installed, along with racing steering wheel. A nitrous tank was installed where the space that the back seats formerly occupied. An air ride hydraulic system and new exhaust was also installed in the Honda. The Nitrous tank brace was welded by Jesse James, and finished by Andrew Fifer, the schools master welder. The brace is hinged above the tire well, where the hydraulic system sets. The hoses for the Nitrous run alongside the brake cables to the front of the car to the engine. Jesse returned as the students finished the monster. Jesse took the car to Master Pin-striper Pete Finland for detail work. The Honda received a full, glossy black coat and tribal flames. The purple flames with green trim engulf the front end of the import. VEHICLE SPECS: Length: 147"; Width: 67"; Height: 48"; Ground Clearance: 6"; Transmission: 5-speed manual. Paint: Black gloss, purple tribal flames and green trim applied by West Coast Choppers, Pete Finlan. Special Welds: Jesse James and Student Master Welder Andrew Fifer welded a bracket to hold the Nitrous tank in place. It is hinged for easy access to the air tank below. The exhaust was also cut and welded to fit the shape of the Honda Import. Additional Acquired or Machined Parts: Front seats removed for Racing seats. Interior was removed entirely. A racing steering wheel was added and a new gearshift was installed.
