Description: Monster Garage 1964 Lincoln Continental Racer
Imagine a stock '64 Lincoln Continental. Then add a NASCAR chassis, a 600hp 427 Motown engine and a T-100 4-speed manual transmission. Jesse and his crew did just that. "The biggest technical challenge was getting the old body off the chassis, as it was a unibody car. The steel was five layers thick in some places, so it took forever to plasma and saw away. I spent at least two full days of the build plasma-cutting that body off. They definitely knew how to build cars back in '64!" says racecar engineer Craig Jull. Jull smashed his tooth out on a grinder during the build of this car. His sweat and blood literally went into the creation of this monster. THE DESIGNERS: Jesse James, custom-bike builder/designer, West Coast Choppers, Long Beach, CA, John Caswell, car designer, Glendale, CA, David Golder, apparel-store owner, Highland, CA, and Craig Jull, racecar engineer, Bellflower, CA. THE BUILDERS: Jesse James, custom-bike builder/designer, West Coast Choppers, Long Beach, CA, David Golder, apparel-store owner, Highland, CA, Matt Goodsell, fabricator/designer, Orange, CA, Brian Haynes, construction supervisor, Janesville, CA, Craig Jull, racecar engineer, Bellflower, CA, and Pat McElreath, racecar consultant, Portland, OR. VEHICLE SPECS: Height: 52"; Width: 78"; Length: 203"; Ground Clearance: 7"; Weight: 3,400 pounds. Additional Acquired or Machined Parts: Includes fabricated brake components and a front-bearing retainer for the transmission.
