Special hand-crafted, custom-made 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition. #9 out of 100 made. In 2002, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette, a small group of professional custom car builders introduced the 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition to pay tribute to the Corvette legacy by blending '50s styling and cutting edge C5 technology. They masterfully grafted '53 Vette styling cues onto a white C5 convertible. The 1953-2003 Commemorative Edition is based on a C5 generation Corvette Convertible (1998-2004). The vehicle was modified to capture the classic styling of the original Corvette but with the performance handling and comfort of the C5 Corvette. Retro-designed parts, which include a new front and rear fascia, headlights, chrome die-cast grille, bumpers, fenders rear quarters and LED taillights replace the original parts. All new body panels use the existing production fastening locations to ensure exact fit. Both the hood and deck lids have been designed and engineered to retain hinges, stops and latch mechanisms. A small notch in the trunk liner to allow for the curvature of the rear deck line to meet with the taillights is the only modification in the vehicle's underbody. In 1953, the only color available was Polo White. This car has a perfect white exterior with red interior and a black convertible top.
