It's football season, and you know what that means. Tailgating. Jesse and his crew created the ultimate tailgating vehicle out of a Cadillac Escalade. Jesse and his team modified the rear-door hinges to open to 90 degrees, removing and hinging the rear windows and modifying the rear-hatch hinges to open wider. The team's biggest challenge was mounting the 42" plasma television to the rear hatch and powering it remotely using hydraulics. Many factors were involved, including weight, location and position of the television, and engineering the hydraulics, cylinders and hinge system to work properly.

Hydraulics: There are three pumps powering five cylinders: the first pump powers the two rear doors (each with one cylinder); the second powers the side window (each with one cylinder); and the third powers the rear hatch with one cylinder. Separate pumps were required because each action required a different pressure setting. Moving Parts: Includes motorized platforms for the grill and bar/serving counter, and hydraulic cylinders for the rear hatch, rear doors and rear windows, all of which are remote-controlled. Special Welds: Special welds were required for the handmade stainless-steel grill firebox and flame spout, the mount and brackets for the 42" plasma TV, the tracks for the grill and bar platforms, the platform extension for the propane tank and the metal-tubing frame for the window-speaker housing. Additional Parts: Auto parts: dual alternator kit, second battery, 110-volt power inverters, front axle brake kit and two power window motors for grill and bar. Audio Equipment: 2,000-watt digital bass amp, 1,200-watt full range amp, 10" subwoofers, 6" by 9" and 6" by .5" speakers. Video Equipment: 42" plasma screen television and mount, 17" flat-screen television, 7" in-dash motorized fold-out television, in-dash DVD player, Xbox game console and satellite dish and receiver. Beverage Equipment: beer tower with tap handle, soda gun, portable cooler, 120' beer cooling coil, soda cooling plate, CO2 tank and regulator, 3-gal soda-syrup tanks, 5-gal soda-water tank and various hoses and fittings.
