Authentic 1968 Shelby GT500 KR show car. 9,112 actual miles. Plaque on dash signed by Carroll Shelby stating it was specially built by Shelby American for the original owner. Original modified 428 Cobra Jet, original polished aluminum C6 transmission with B M upgrades, original rear end chrome plated and chromed dual Holley carbs. The car has had the undercarriage and engine compartment painted in Black Centauri. The front seat headrests have Cobras embroidered in them. 4-wheel disc brakes and switch operated electric fuel pump in addition to the mechanical pump, engine and transmission coolers. Tilt-away steering column, overhead map light console, Stewart Warner gauges (fuel and oil pressure, vacuum, ammeter, and water temperature), trunk mounted battery, electronic ignition with rev limiter, braided fuel and water hoses. Everything that could come off was chromed including the original rear end, complete exhaust system, traction bars, rear sway bar and just about everything under the hood and under the car. You can't see all the chromed pieces even if you study the car. The underside of the hood has been modified to make it a functional Ram Air. The side scoops have also been modified with ducting for rear brake cooling. The car has been in numerous car magazines and car shows with plenty of First Place and Best of Show trophies. The engine sounds as good as it looks and the transmission gets the power to the 3.50 geared posi-traction rear end. Engine runs great on 92 octane but loves high octane race fuel. The purchaser will also receive original Shelby rims that have been custom chrome-plated with tires.
