1970 Mustang Boss 429 Fastback
$245,000 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale AZ
429 KK #2378 built November 17, 1969. This is considered a late built BOSS 429 and has the "A" block. This car has the original engine with the original VIN stamped on the back of the block and the original transmission with VIN stamped on the top of the front edge. This had all of the hard to find parts such as the carburetor, exhaust manifolds, radiator, air cleaner, fan blade, valve covers, front suspension upper and lower control arms, spare tire and jack, dated glass, original wheels with reproduction bias ply tires, oil cooler and many more parts. Judged this Summer at the MCA meet in Illinois and we received a Concours Trailered Gold. Owner history on this car plus we have the Build Sheet, owner's booklets that came in the glovebox, the Kevin Marti Report and other documentation. Meticulously restored by Kevin's Klassic Cars and Bob Wilson who oversees the shop is a judge with the MCA. Bob Perkins, who is the authenticity judge for the MCA, helped us finish out the details so that this is the best cars out there. All the items have the correct date codes, color codes, chalk marks, decals, tags and stickers. This car came out with 375hp which is underrated because of many items they put on the cars to de-tune them. We changed the cam to a hotter cam and at around 6400rpm the engine on the dyno had 510hp and that is with all other items being original equipment. Grabber Green car and according to Marti Report, they only made 95 in this color and they only made a total of 499 cars in 1970, of which only about half have been accounted for. It is the only car they ever made with the semi-HEMI and a good portion of it was built at Kar Kraft. Ford put way more money in these cars so they would be able to race. In order to qualify a car to race they had to build 500 of that car and they spent more money on these cars than they were able to sell them for. The interior, exterior and the under side of the car are just beautiful.
