In 2000, Cadillac returned to international sports-car competition with the Cadillac Northstar LMP. The 2000 Rolex 24 at Daytona marked the first time since the 1950 24 hours of LeMans that Cadillac pitted its technology against the best that sports-car racing has to offer. The heart of Cadillac's LMP racecar is the world renowned Northstar V8 found in the Cadillac Seville and DeVille. Cadillac solicited the services of fabled race-vehicle builders Riley and Scott to construct the chassis. McLaren Engines was asked to apply their Turbo-charging experience and develop the Twin-Turbo (4.0 Liter) Cadillac Northstar V8 LMP. (NOTE: Engine assembly not complete.) Specifications: 224cid (4.0 Liter) V8 (Vehicle contains no electronics for the engine) and 570 horsepower @7200 rpm/480 lbs.-ft. @ 6000 rpm. Top speed in excess of 200 mph.
