The 2005 Ford GT is a modern interpretation of the mid-60's Ford GT40 which placed 1-2-3 at the 24 Hours of LeMans in 1966 and won the grueling endurance race the next three consecutive years. Mounted behind the passenger compartment and beneath a glass panel in the clamshell engine cover, the 5.4 Liter Super-charged aluminum V8 engine generates 500hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,500rpm. A 6-speed Ricardo manual transaxle shunts the power to meaty P315/40ZR19 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar rear tires mounted to 1-piece BBS alloy wheels, which drive to a top speed beyond 180mph. Can get from 0 to 60mph in less than 4 seconds. Anti-lock brakes, fog lights, keyless remote, alarm, power windows, premium McIntosh Stereo, CD changer, Airbag driver and passenger, tinted windows and painted racing stripes.
