Description: 1957 Chevy 210 2-Door Post Sedan
$35,000 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale AZ
Restored 1957 2-door, 210 post car. All sheet metal including the firewall, frame and underside of the car and fenders were sandblasted and painted black. The original stock engine was sent to Maximum Performance in Denver and re-built to 270hp specifications. The block has a Duntov grind cam with solid lifters with the intent to add 2 4-barrel WCFB carburetors to complete the package. Unfortunately, I was not able to find the carburetors, but have the manifold for the future buyer. The three speed column shift and rear differential are stock units that were replaced as is. A new gas tank, and sending unit was installed and new gas line relocated outside the frame. A new brake line was also relocated outside the frame. New brake lines, cylinders and shoes were installed. The stock master cylinder was rebuilt and drums were turned to complete the stock brake system. For safety, after-market roller bearings and hubs were used on the front wheel assembly in lieu of stock. All stainless was removed and set aside for later buffing. Replacement of one piece of stainless was necessary. The rebuilt engine and stock dual exhaust system was installed at this juncture. During removal of existing paint, I discovered quarter panels had been repaired with riveted sheet metal and bondo. Existing sheet metal was cut out as necessary and replaced by Whitt's Street Rods. They also removed and replaced several floor braces and three other small (1 1/2") rusted out areas of the body and floor. New glass was installed and all stainless pieces were buffed and replaced on the car. All bumpers had previously been re-chromed and were then installed on the car. Weatherstripping was installed, the radio repaired and several electrical issues were resolved as the final steps in the car's restoration.
