1931 Ford Model A Street Rod
$52,000 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale AZ
1931 Ford, Model A 2 door sedan Street Rod. All steel body, 350 Chevy engine with 4 Weber carburetors (8 barrels total), Turbo 400 Hydra-matic transmission, 3" top chop, 1932 grille and Heidt's stainless steel independent front suspension. The car was purchased by John Younger from Hamilton, Virginia, in the late 1980's and was in a retro Street Rod form at the time. It had the 350 Chevy engine when he purchased it. John drove it for a few years attending car shows, and then decided to rebuild it in total with the body off. He and his friend Gene Fairfax spent approximately 5 years transforming the car into the monocolor showpiece. Most of the work was performed in John's home garage. John drove it for about 5 years attending car shows. I purchased the car on August 4, 2001, at the NSRA Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, from John as he had just retired to Sarasota, Florida, and could not envision his pride and joy being exposed to the salt water atmosphere. The car had 7,551 original miles on it at the time of purchase. John passed on to me approximately 20 pounds of meticulous documentation consisting of a complete photo album of the build process plus all notes, sketches, drawings, diagrams, invoices, statements, parts, manuals, etc. The car currently has 7,850 miles on restoration.
