Personal Info: Monster Garage Dragster
$23,000 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale AZ
Custom Lyons Eail "Hot Dogster" built on the Monster Garage TV Show
Take a New York City hot-dog cart and a top fuel dragster that can hit speeds over 130 mph, and you've got the ultimate hot dog serving machine. This monster was so loud and so fast that the New York City police shut down an attempt by Jesse to show it off live on Letterman. Additional machine parts included a radiator, steering wheel and fuel tank. The team also completed a number or body modifications. They cut the hot-dog cart in half, using the hot-dog dispensers and umbrella as the dragster's body. The '66 Woody Gilmore front-engine slingshot dragster served as the monster's frame. The team's greatest challenge was ensuring the hot-dog cart body was cut with enough room to allow the tires to expand as they drag-raced. They also had to make sure the coupler that rests between Jesse's legs, connecting the transmission to the rear end, was running smoothly; if something went wrong with that, Jesse could be seriously injured.
