The completely restyled 1957 Ford was longer, lower, roomier and sleeker. The frame got wider and was supported by an entire new suspension and new, more powerful engine offerings. The result was a highly desirable car that finished first in the production race (beating Chevrolet; a feat Ford managed in only two years in the 50's. The other being 1954). The 1957 Tudor Ranch Wagon has been and continues to be a favorite of Street Rod and custom car builders and fans. This 2 door wagon has survived in rare stock configuration Ranch Wagon and is in great condition, visually and mechanically. While its stock configuration has survived, it is not original. Both its exterior (paint, chrome and stainless) and interior have been restored. The VIN confirms that it is a Tudor Ranch Wagon (the R code) with a 292cid V8 engine (the C code) as well as the fact that it was produced at the Atlanta, Georgia, production plant (the A code). The data plate indicates the following: Body - Tudor Ranch Wagon (code 59A), Color - red/white two tone exterior (code RE), Trim - red/white vinyl interior (code AU) desirable Del Rio style, Production Date - August 16, 1956 (code 16H), Transmission - 3-speed manual (code 1) and Axle - 3.89:1 (code 4). This nostalgic survivor that sports the desirable 4-barrel T-Bird Special V8 engine and dress-up kit with red/white two tone exterior and red/white Del Rio interior is an eye catching ride that looks, runs, drives and shows great.
