1968 Mustang Fastback
$42,000 2008 Barrett-Jackson Auction Scottsdale AZ
It had no rust and that is what made it stand out from the rest. So, when we decided it was exactly what we wanted we had it picked up and brought to us. When it arrived, the air conditioning worked and it drove just fine. It wasn't until we got it into my dad's body shop that we realized that this car was too nice to keep as a daily driver for me. It had no rust just like the seller stated and it came with the original title, Bill of Sale, and Window Sticker from the dealer. After the decision to restore the car the right way with no shortcuts was made we began our work, taking the car apart piece by piece and making sure nothing was missed as we restored the car from headlight to tailpipe. When the car was completely shed of all of its parts, we built a homemade rotisserie and had the chassis sand-blasted. All of the parts had been sent away to be powdercoated or ceramic-coated. Added American Racing 5-spoke rims and 4-wheel, chrome disc brakes for safety and drivability. We also decided to have the one-and-only Carroll Shelby sign the glove compartment cover. However, we kept all of the original parts that we decided to replace for safety.
