In 1953, Buick introduced the Skylark designed by Harley Earl, built to celebrate the company's 50th Anniversary and intended to be produced as a Limited Edition, single-year offering. But Harley Earl was so enamored by his design that he continued it for 1954. It was redesigned from the '53 model and shifted to the slightly smaller Century chassis. The '54 Skylark sported a tapered rear deck and new chrome tailfins. Each car, produced only as a convertible, came fully equipped with a 322cid, 8-cylinder engine producing 200hp, a dyna-flow automatic transmission, leather interior, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power top, Selectronic radio and open wheel wells with Kelsey Hays 40-spoke wire wheels. Of only 836 Skylarks produced in 1954, it is believed that fewer than 50 exist today. This stunning 1954 Skylark is finished in the elegant and sporty Artic White with Matador Red interior. It has undergone a complete cosmetic re-freshening. A very desirable collector car that is both beautiful and exceedingly rare. Zero miles on new paint. Stainless and chrome re-done and re-polished. New trunk. New interior. New white convertible top. Complete frame-on restoration.
