This '69 Camaro was built by J2 Speed and Custom in Omaha, NE. This car was completed in September 2007 and debuted at the Kansas City Goodguys. At this show the car won the Maguire's Magnificent Award. While in Kansas City a photo shoot with Josh Mishler of Buckaroo was completed for an upcoming feature in Super Rod magazine. The Camaro also went to the Goodguys in Joliet, Illinois and won the Cool Camaro Award. After this award the car was invited to Sema 2007 where it was displayed in the Goodyear tire booth.
The exterior includes: Spies and Hecker Black basecoat, clear coat finish, tucked and fitted Endura front bumper, flat Camaro hood, shaved cowl panel, shaved marker lights, shaved drip rails, flush mounted rear bumper and smoothed roll pan, mini tubbed with custom rear wheel housings and frame rails, raised trunk floor, along with all brand new reproduction Camaro parts.
The engine includes: A 454 crate engine bored and stroked to a 496, Scat crank, H-beam rods, SRP/JE pistons, Comp cam, lifters and springs, AED 850 HO modified carb, Billet Specialties true trac belt system, Afco alumminum radiator with a Mark VII fan, custom headers with Flowmaster series 40 mufflers, Aeroquip hoses and fittings; 515 hp, 580 lb-ft of torque. Transmission: Tremec TKO-500 five-speed manual. Rearend: Ford 9 inch with 4:11 Gears, Moser axles. Suspension: Front: Detroit speed control arms, Airride shocks with stock subframe connected to DSE subframe connectors. Rear: Detroit Speed Quadralink with Air Ride. Brakes: Wilwood Superlite 4 piston calipers with 13 inch rotors, rear has helper parking brake, stainless steel brake lines throughout, Hydratech hydroboost controls the braking power. The wheels are: front intro 18x8, rear: intro 20x10. The tires are: front: Goodyear 235x 40x18, rear: Dunlop 295x40x20.
Interior includes: Totally one off with a contemporary feel masterfully completed by Tracy Weaver at the Recovery Room; several handmade parts including the dash, vents, shifter, seat handles, rear package tray, rear view mirror mount. Vintage air conditioning; Flaming River steering column; Dynamat sound deadener; Sony stereo; Rockford Fosgate amplifier and speakers; Billet Specialties steering wheel with custom wrap; Classic instruments gauges in a hand made cluster; Electrilife power windows and lock with American autowire harness.
There are several modifications to this car that have not all been listed. The car was built to drive and enjoy, all undercarriage is powder coated and undercoated to allow for several miles of road enjoyment.
