1964 Plymouth Fury Wedge Convertible
Final Bid: $ 63,800.00 - Russo & Steele Auction Scottsdale 2008
Many Mopar Muscle Car experts consider 1964 the premier year for Chrysler muscle power. In February 1964, the new 426 Hemi engine debuted in the Daytona 500 Race, and the 1964 Plymouths won first and second place! The 426 Max Wedge Plymouths were dominating the dragstrips. But the public did not have a serious street-racing engine. Therefore Chrysler introduced the 426 Street Wedge of which one such example is this outstanding survivor.
Here is the ultimate street cruiser. This is an original 426 cubic inch 365 horsepower engine, 727 push button automatic optioned 1964 Plymouth Fury Convertible! It is one of only a handful built and still showing all of its original paint. It has 59,000 original miles this may be the best surviving 1964 426 convertible in the world.
The engine and transmission are believed to be original to the car since new. For correct verification the car is here with its original factory build sheet! It has power steering, power top and am/fm radio for the ultimate Saturday night cruising and street racing! It has its original dash and seats and door panels, alt original and excellent condition! The trunk has the original spare and mat! For the ultimate 426 Street Wedge Convertible, and the ultimate all original paint survivor.
