The Amphicar was the only amphibious automobile ever mass-produced for sale to the public. All Amphicars are powered by the British Triumph Herald 1200 engine. This is a 'Model 770' and can achieve speeds of 7 knots in the water and 70 mph on land. All Amphicars were produced from 1961 to 1968 Total production was 3,878. Amphicars were manufactured in West Germany and almost all were shipped to the United States. This vehicle was purchased from the original owner who bought this car new in 1967. It has only 740 original miles. This car/boat has only been in the water twice but swims perfectly.
