1927 Ford Hot Rod Intoxica Pick Up
Final Bid: $ 44,000.00 - Russo & Steele Auction Scottsdale 2008
Built by fames English Craftsman, Kerry Burch, the English Ed Roth. The construction of Intoxica started in England about ten years ago and took five years to build. Kerry wanted to fabricate a custom Hot Rod by forming and gas welding metal exactly as the "old school" process was done in the fifties. Using only parts made prior to 1960 from different source cars this exciting creation was done with no bill it bondo or fiberglass. It is entirely and built totally functional and fun to drive. Currently titled in California as a 1927 Ford and registered to the personalized plated which bear its name.
With a 1955 Cadillac 331 inch motor, Cadillac lights and tail finns it could have been called the "Rodillac" but then the 1957 Olds dash and machined Rocket gear shift give it another persona. Air and fuel go through four Stromberg 97's into an extremely rare Horne aluminum intake. The power is shifted by a 1939 Ford three speed into a 1940 Ford 411 rear. 1940 Ford brakes are used and holding all this fun together is a boxed model A Ford frame with V.I.N. # A1642837.
Some of the Specifications include: Body- hand formed metal on customized 1927 Ford T, the chassis- boxed Ford model A, the front axle- 1937 Ford chopped, The rear axle- 1940 Ford, 411 gears, The brakes- 1940 Ford, The trans- 1939 Ford 3 speed, The engine- 1955 Cadillac 331 cu in., The gauges- 1957 Olds, the steering- wheel too cool 1950's boat (new), the carb and intake- 4 Stromberg 97's on super rare Horne intake, the paint- Olds or Cadillac Fire mist gold, and all suspension is nickel plated over copper to give it a nostalgic look.
