1964 Plymouth Sports Fury Coupe
Final Bid: $ 36,850.00 - Russo & Steele Auction Scottsdale 2008
This rare Mopar underwent a 3-year rotisserie restoration with incredible detail and upgrades throughout. The body was striped and soda blasted to eliminate any signs of rust and to ensure a near flawless paint job. The paint is was done in a pearl yellow clear coat with a custom "cheese cloth" over lay in a couple of area's. During the restoration, all of the hinges were rebuilt and new rubber was installed. The bumpers, handles and other bright work were completely re chromed. Special attention was given to the drive train to make this Mopar incredibly strong and still able to be daily driven.
The motor is a 452 CI with Brodix aluminum heads, a 1050 street dominator carburetor, Mopar dual plane intake, Ross 13.1 pistons, Ray Barton rods, balanced and blueprinted Mopar steel crank, high volume oil pump, ported oil galleys, Comp roller cam, Comp 1.5 roller rockers, MSD ignition, billet distributor, billet vacuum pump, Hooker headers, 3" jet hot coated exhaust. The motor is set back 2" and a 1970 Road Runner K member was installed. The transmission is a Mopar 727 with TCI valve body, bands, clutches and uses a 1500 stall converter. The interior is done in leather and tweed and it has a retro gauge package built into a custom center console. All the nuts and bolt were done in stainless steel and even the cables were done in stainless by Lokar.
