By the late 80's and early 90's the resto-mod craze had begun. Sparked by the need for comfort as well as ground pounding horsepower, restoration shops converted to hot rod shops. Always on the cutting edge of the market place, Hot Rod magazine decided to build the ultimate resto-mod. They would build the car throughout several issues keeping the readers intrigued with all of the greatest "go fast" parts of the time. When they chose the car to do, of course they chose the most modified and restored car of all time, the 57 Chevy. After completion of the car in 1994 it was raffled off and one lucky young man left with the car of his dreams. Unfortunately, the young winner did not understand the tax implications of winning his dream car and he quickly sold it. The collector he sold it to, retained this piece of Hot Rod history amongst his famous Corvette collection and is now offering it to the public for the first time since it was raffled.
