Description: 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Racecar
Final Bid: $ 14,300.00 - Russo & Steele Auction Scottsdale 2008
This is a beautifully purpose built 1973 corvette convertible. Several modifications have been made to suit my driving style and increase the reliability and level of performance. In 2003, the entire motor was rebuilt with brand new heavy-duty parts. The car is a Group III NCCC car and record holder at Mid America Motorplex in Iowa during a NCCC high-speed event. The car has predominately been used as an autocross car participating in both low and high-speed events. The motor has very minimal wear since being rebuilt in 2003 as I have had no time to race due to my work schedule. To prepare the car for road racing, several upgrades were installed including new VBP severe duty stainless steel calipers with heat insulators, front ducting for the brakes and fresh fluid throughout including Motul high temp racing brake fluid and hawk blue racing brake pads.

The car needs nothing but a good home and driver. The previous owner went to great lengths to set this car up properly to ensure it is perfectly balanced. He had it up to 154 mph at Texas Motor Speedway. It is the best handling and nicest looking racecar I have ever owned. It has the full interior and a removable hardtop.

The engine includes: Rebuilt in 2003 has 400 horsepower, 1969 350 Chevrolet small block bored ".030" over with 4 bolt mains, When rebuilt, the following was done to the block, Balanced, Square Decked, Line bore/hone, and Bore/hone cylinders with plate.

New parts installed during rebuild: 8 new JE domed pistons 11cc for 12.75:1 compression ratio, Scat 4140 forged nitrided steel crank shaft, Scat 6.0" 4340 forged I beam rod set with ARP bolts, Custom ground solid lift billet camshaft from Flatlander Racing, Dart Iron Eagle 215 Iron Cylinder Heads 2.055" intake & 1.60" exhaust, GM solid lifters, Magnum fully roller rocker arms, New 5/16 7.900 pushrods Melling HV Oil Pump, 750 CFM speed demon carburetor with road race kit, Edelbrock performer RPM manifold, Hooker super competition headers with chrome side pipes, Taylor Spark Plug Wires, Oil, transmission and power steering coolers.

Other additions include: MSD 6AL with adjustable rev limiter, MSD Pro Billet Distributor, K&N extreme air flow filter and top, Fully synthetic fluids (Mobil 1 20/50, AmsOil racing automatic transmission fluid, AmsOil 75W 90 gear lube, New Optima Red Top Battery, Transmission & Driveline, Custom built turbo 350 with manual valve body, B&M ratchet shifter, 3,500 stall converter, 4:11 gears, Suspension & Brakes, New VBP severe duty stainless steel calipers with heat insulators, New VBP front and rear stainless steel brake lines, New Hawk Blue 126 front racing pads, New rear performance friction brake pads, New front brake air ducts, New front rotors and resurfaced rear rotors, Motul 600 racing brake fluid New VBP 550 lb street and slalom front coil springs, front and rear anti-sway bars, Bilstein Shocks, Flaming Rivers steering coupler.
